Everything You Need to Know; Dynamics 365 and SPLA

 Microsoft Dynamics 365 is the next generation of intelligent business applications in the cloud, which enables organisations to grow, evolve, and transform. These applications provide CRM capabilities to help engage customers, empower employees, and reinvent products and business models. Microsoft Dynamics 365 helps customers to accelerate their digital transformation to meet the changing needs of their customers and capture the new business opportunities of tomorrow.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 released in SPLA on the 1st of February 2017. It replaced the previous Dynamics CRM SKUs.

Changes:

• Dynamics 365 will include Sales, Customer Services and Team Members SALs
• The new SKUs/SALs appear on the February 2017 SPLA price list and the February SPUR 
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 replaces the current Dynamics CRM SKUs

The following CRM SKUs will be removed from the February 2017 SPLA Pricelist:

 The following table includes the mapping of the old CRM SKUs to the new Dynamics 365 SKUs:

From the 1st of March 2017, transitional SKUs are available for Dynamics 365 for partners who are currently using CRM on their active SPLA contract that may want to continue using CRM and are not in a position to migrate or upgrade to the new licensing and pricing model of Dynamics 365. These SKUs are as below:

Please note we are still waiting for the usage rights for the above SKUs to be released, expected in March 2017, before we can fully understand how to apply the usage of these SKUs.

Downgrade Rights

In terms of Prior Version Rights or Downgrade Rights, as per usual, the SPUR for Dynamics products allows for the use of only the immediately preceding version of the current version (i.e. Dynamics CRM 2016).
