Westcoast and HP Offer Customisation for Education

PRESS RELEASE

Distributor Westcoast has teamed up with HP to launch an exclusive customised-to-order (CTO) initiative for education-focused channel partners.

Created by Westcoast, the HP for Education (HPFE) configuration tool enables resellers, or their end-user schools, colleges and universities, to design and build their own bespoke HP desktop PCs - and then receive delivery within 48 hours of their order.

Paul Hamilton, Client Director, Westcoast, said: “This initiative represents a brilliant market opportunity for our partners and it brings the long-awaited benefit of immediacy to educational institutions.”

He added: “We’ve designed the HPFE tool so that it can be easily integrated into the websites or e-commerce platforms of our partners. They can rebrand the tool or add their own services into the mix. It’s a comprehensive, versatile offering that benefits partners, educators and learners.”

Neil Sawyer, Channel Director of HP UKI, said: “This CTO initiative empowers schools, colleges and universities to request specific computing requirements at a speed and scale not previously possible. Now, these kind of end customers can get the same experience as large corporations.”

“It’s an important project for HP. We wanted to partner with Westcoast because it has a superb track record in creating and hosting highly robust and proficient configuration tools.”

Initially, the CTO tool can be used to configure desktop PC systems but Westcoast and HP are planning to add laptops and other products in the short term.

The scheme will also be extended to alternative vertical markets to so that a broader spectrum of customers can experience the same levels of customisation.
